THE NORTH CUP – YOUNG GUNS FINISH THE JOB! 🏆

For two days, The North Cup was everything we hoped it would be — close matches, momentum swings, trash talk, and two teams that just couldn't separate themselves.

Friday ended dead even.

Saturday morning, the OLD GUARD finally broke the tie, taking a slim 1-point lead into the afternoon.

Then came Saturday afternoon's 4-Man Scramble, and apparently the YOUNG GUNS dug deep while the Old Guard started thinking about their afternoon nap. The youngsters got the better of the wiley vets, erased the deficit and tied the North Cup right back up.

Going into Sunday's 1v1 Match Play, it couldn't have been scripted any better.

All tied. 12 matches. Winner takes the North Cup, the Cash and Bragging Rights!

The Old Guard was feeling PRETTY good Saturday night.

Sunday afternoon?

Not so much. 😂

SUNDAY MASSACRE

The Young Guns didn't just win Sunday — they absolutely took over.

YOUNG GUNS: 10 Wins – 1 Loss – 1 Tie = 10.5 Points 🔥🔥🔥

OLD GUARD: 1 Win – 10 Losses – 1 Tie = 1.5 Points

There were definitely some great matches that came right down to the final holes.

And then there were a few others where the Old Guard could've probably started packing the cars at the turn. 😂 Of note Kevin Bachert (Old Guard) couldn't teach his son in law (Mike Stokes) a lesson after all the talkin on Saturday Night, the best he could do was tie. Nic Mojica shot lights out to best the Old Guard Captain Ike, Tom Wendt Shot lights out to take down one of the Young Guns Top Guns Dan Keelan.

Other notables: Good thing Clauson won his 1v1 match early on Sunday because he had to take a shit for the last 6 holes - can you say TURTLE HEAD? Speaking of shit - I wandered into the woods (after a couple cold frosty's) on hole #7 to take a leak and noticed a clear bag (the ones the cart girls usually put beers and ice in) and towel sitting right there in the middle of the trees, on that towel was SHIT and the bag full of it as well. I forgot to ask - McClain we're you in the area on Saturday Morning? 😂 You can't make this shit up (literally) I have pictures to prove it! 😂

After three sessions where these teams were basically inseparable, the Young Guns picked the perfect time to completely blow the doors off.

Was it a mismatch? Didn't seem to be going into Sunday sooo....was it on the Old Guard Captains for not matching up their players up accordingly? Or was it, they just got outplayed and didn't perform as usual? Things to think about to be sure!

SHOW ME THE MONEY 💰

Ironically, the tournament's top money winner was Dan Keelan — who also happened to be the ONLY Young Gun to lose his singles match Sunday.

Apparently you don't have to win them all…you just have to know which ones pay. 😂

Other notable money winners included Cal Edwards, Jay Poma, Nick Vitt, Nic Mojica and PIE, who all managed to grab a healthy share of the weekend's cash.

The skins pot was busy all weekend too. Friday's skins were CHEAP, with 10 skins paid out, while Sunday's skins became considerably more valuable. There were plenty of skins won throughout the weekend, quite a few pins collected, and enough side money floating around to keep everybody interested until the end.

Most importantly, everyone walked away with some cash and prizes.

THREE DAYS. ONE CUP. A HELLUVA WEEKEND.

Overall, the first North Cup delivered exactly what we were looking for — great competition, close matches, plenty of laughs, some good golf, some questionable golf, and three days of nonstop Young Guns vs. Old Guard trash talk.

The Old Guard deserves some credit. They battled back Saturday Morning and took the lead, gave it back Saturday Afternoon and went into Sunday with everything tied.

Unfortunately for them…

Sunday happened. 😂

The Young Guns raised the North Cup, the Old Guard lived to tell the story, and everybody had a helluva time along the way.

So now there's really only one question left...
