Week 4 at THE KNOB is officially in the books, and while some guys showed up ready to golf, others appeared to be conducting extensive research on Pine Knob's trees and ski resort.
Leading the charge this week was Bachert, who put together a stellar round totaling 40 points, including a blistering 24 Actual Points. That's good enough to claim this week's high total and earn himself a pick from the prize pool. Nicely done, Bachert!
Not far behind was Stone, who absolutely caught fire and posted 25 Actual Points on his way to a 39 Total. Rumor has it the scorecard was tested for accuracy multiple times because nobody believed it.
Keith Martin has posted back to back 20pt rounds and is just waiting to make his move (lookout boys!)
An honorable mention goes out to AL BISSSSSSOOOONNNNNEEETTTTEEE (name is still waaaaaay too long :) , who quietly went about his business and carded a very respectable 38 Total. Nice playing, Al. Nothing says "I'm serious about this championship race" quite like dropping your handicap and making everybody uncomfortable.
Unfortunately for all these guys, none of it was enough to knock MOJITO out of his high chair. The current leader sits atop the standings with 140 Season Points, but the pressure is mounting. Bachert is now breathing down his neck at 139, and there are several others lurking just behind, waiting for one bad day and a couple 4-putt meltdowns.
MOJITO, you may want to keep up those 3-4 pre-outing practice rounds, amigo. The wolves are circling.
The week's long bomb belonged to Jimmy Mac, who uncorked a 297-yard missile to claim Long Drive honors. For his efforts, Jimmy takes home a prize pack featuring a dozen golf balls and an Adidas Performance T-Shirt. Congratulations, Jimmy. The rest of your group is still trying to figure out what happened on the other 17 holes.
